Root Canal Treatment in Hyderabad
Single-Sitting & Rotary RCT to Help Save an Infected Tooth

Root canal treatment (RCT) is used when the pulp inside a tooth becomes inflamed, infected or irreversibly damaged because of deep decay, cracks, trauma or previous dental work. At Dr.Sri Sushma Multispeciality Dental Clinic in Anandbagh, Hyderabad, we use clinical examination, digital X-rays and modern rotary endodontic techniques to diagnose the cause of tooth pain and, when appropriate, preserve the natural tooth instead of extracting it.

About This Treatment

What is Root Canal Treatment in Hyderabad?
Everything You Need to Know

Patients searching for root canal treatment in Hyderabad often want to know whether RCT is painful, how much a root canal costs, whether it can be completed in one sitting and whether a crown is needed afterwards. Root canal treatment removes inflamed or infected pulp tissue from inside the tooth, cleans and shapes the root canal system, disinfects it and seals the prepared canals with a biocompatible filling material. The goal is to control infection and retain a tooth that is still restorable. At our Anandbagh, Moula Ali clinic, treatment planning may include digital radiographs, pulp sensibility testing, an apex locator and nickel-titanium rotary instruments. Some straightforward cases can be completed in one appointment, while teeth with significant infection, complex anatomy, retreatment needs or persistent drainage may require more than one visit. After RCT, the final restoration is chosen according to how much healthy tooth structure remains and the forces placed on that tooth. Patients visit us from Anandbagh, Moula Ali, Malkajgiri, Safilguda, Neredmet, Sainikpuri, AS Rao Nagar, ECIL, Secunderabad and nearby Hyderabad areas for tooth pain assessment and root canal care.

How It Works

Your Treatment Journey
Step by Step

1
Diagnosis & Digital X-Ray
We examine the tooth, review your symptoms and use dental X-rays and pulp tests when needed to determine whether the pulp is inflamed, infected or already non-vital. The tooth is also assessed to confirm that it is restorable.
2
Local Anaesthesia & Isolation
Local anaesthesia is used to keep the procedure comfortable. The tooth is isolated to create a clean working field and reduce contamination during treatment.
3
Canal Cleaning & Shaping
The pulp chamber is accessed and the canals are cleaned and shaped using endodontic instruments, including rotary nickel-titanium files where appropriate. Irrigating solutions are used to disinfect the canal system.
4
Canal Filling & Seal
Once adequately cleaned and dried, the prepared root canals are filled with a biocompatible material such as gutta-percha and sealed. A temporary or permanent restoration is placed depending on the treatment plan.
5
Final Restoration & Review
Back teeth and teeth with substantial loss of structure often need cuspal protection with a crown or onlay after RCT. The final restoration is selected according to remaining tooth structure, bite and fracture risk.
Treatment Options

Types of Root Canal Treatment in Hyderabad

Multi-Visit Root Canal Treatment
Some teeth benefit from treatment over more than one visit, particularly when there is significant infection, swelling, drainage, complex anatomy or difficulty obtaining adequate canal disinfection in one appointment. Medication may be placed inside the canals between visits before final sealing.
Used when additional infection control or observation is clinically appropriate
Temporary sealing protects the tooth between appointments
Final canal filling is completed after the tooth is ready to be sealed
Root Canal Retreatment
A previously root canal-treated tooth can occasionally develop new symptoms or infection because of missed anatomy, leakage, a new cavity, fracture or breakdown of the restoration. Retreatment involves reopening the tooth, removing previous canal filling material where possible, cleaning the canals again and reassessing whether the tooth can be predictably retained.
Assessment of previously treated teeth with pain, swelling or radiographic infection
Additional imaging such as CBCT may be recommended for selected complex cases
Prognosis depends on tooth structure, root anatomy, restorability and the cause of failure
